Juliet Larsen
November 4, 2016Hi Adele my name’s Juliet, we met at the St. Fagan’s food festival during the summer. I mentioned that I’d read about hibiscus being used to help preserve the colour of red hair as mine is fading and you said you’d be able to send my details to, or put me in touch with, a lady who uses henna and hibiscus to keep her hair red. It was only when I looked in the mirror this week that I remembered! I hope that’s still okay. I’m still using what we learned on our foraging session, had hairy bittercress in my egg mayo sarnies the other day! So thanks again, love Juliet.

April 8, 2017Hi Juliet, sadly, the lady in question dies recently (nothing to do with the henna!)

November 27, 2016Hi Adele Nozedar!
I own The Element Encyclopedia of Secret Signs and Symbols, and in the Flowers of the Underworld section and the Mercury entry is a symbol (presumably for mercury). I can’t seem to find that symbol anywhere on the internet though and was just curious about it. I’d appreciate any information on the symbol.
Thanks!
Josh, a fan

January 7, 2017Dear Adele,
I just wanted to let you know how much I absolutely adore your book ‘The Hedgerow Handbook’ which I received for Christmas! 🙂 It was my favourite present by far and can’t wait to try out all the recipes – they all sound sooo delicious! The illustrations are also lovely and everything is just so clear and easy to follow, I’m really looking forward to using it.
Thanks again 🙂

April 8, 2017Wow, thanks Laura! Sorry this has taken ages to reply to, I had issues with my ability to use my own website! It’s always lovely to receive messages like yours and I hope by now that you’re eyeing up possible sources of ingredients in the hedgerows! Ax

March 23, 2017Hay, I’m so happy I’ve come across your work especially on a day so magical. I had a message bought to me by a male pheasant today not sure what it is yet lol but I’m sure in time I will.
I actually came here looking for your sourcebook can’t find it in your shop, when will you have it back????
admin
April 8, 2017Hi Matiga!
Thanks so much for getting in touch! The book is out of print but it might be worth keeping an eye on Amazin for a second hand copy. Sorry I can’t help any more than that….you could petition the publishers to do a reprint, mind you! Good luck and thanks. BTW I have a beautiful male pheasant called Petulengro which has decided to live in my garden! Such a beautiful creature xxx

March 24, 2017I’d like to order your new unabridged version of The Signs & Symbols Sourcebook:
“However, a new unabridged version is available at a cost of £30.00 plus postage suitable for your territory (contact me for details)”
It does not appear to be available anywhere else.
I am in Vermont, USA.
Thanks

April 8, 2017Hi Carlos
This might help
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Signs+and+symbols+sourcebook
I could of course send the book from here but the postage, for me, would be prohibitive and I also can’t buy the book myself as cheaply as this! Let me know if you still have problems.

April 6, 2017Hi Adele
My name is Yulin Chen, a staff of “Star East Press” to deal with publishing agreements or license agreements.
We, Star East Publications, a division of Cite Publishing Ltd, are a publisher with a fine reputation here in Taiwan, and we are specialized in publishing the books and novels of love, romance, and the likes.
Recently, we find a work you write with the title《Illustrated Signs and Symbols Sourcebook》. We are very interested in this work. So, could you tell us if the right to translate and publish this work in Chinese language has been granted? And, if not, how can we get it? And to whom we can negotiate with?
We are eagerly waiting for your reply.
With best wishes,

Richie Cotterill - Spring Greens Fair
April 7, 2017Hi Adele,
If you are not already booked up and would be interested in promoting your books and running a foraging ramble at Spring Greens Fair over the weekend 29/30 April you would be very welcome. Gordon Coppock met you at Kington Library and thought we would be a good fit.
Be in touch,
Richie

April 8, 2017Hi Richie
I would love to have done so since I hear very good things about Spring Greens, but unfortunately that weekend isn’t free for me. I hope the event is a massive success for you! Maybe next year?
Stacey Devlin
July 11, 2017Hello Adele,
I hope you don’t mind me contacting you in this manner, I work on Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas and we are looking for budding foragers to come on the new series to compete in the ‘Best Christmas Hamper Challenge’.
I would be grateful if you can help us reach out to your network of wild cooks to take part in these challenges. The filming involves a background story of how the candidate began their craft and subsequently a day of filming the challenge where they compete and demonstrate their talent on camera. The winner is then decided by a prestigious judge.
I would be delighted to discuss this further and send you more information on how to apply.
Kind regards,
Stacey

August 29, 2017Adele,
Great to encounter you at Llangynidr Show on Sunday. Really enjoyed the jam making demo. I chose to buy your Hedgerow Foraging book while there and having scanned it briefly, bought the Garden Forager online which I’m now avidly reading. It’s triggered many more childhood memories. My grandad taught me about all trees plants flowers and birds. He was an expert at Elderflower Champagne which I still make, and one of his favourite jams was blackberry and elderberry. My childhood was defined by seasons, and finding the Wimberry recipes, which I still forage for, is a summer memory. My aunt would drag my cousin and I up the Allt in Bwlch where we would spend the day collecting them in old National Dried Milk tins( not without spillage). my aunt would then take them to Brecon for the Friday market. They also make very good natural dyes. I’m sure my mum must have dreaded my return in the days before automatic washing machines! Hope to see you again very soon at another country show.

Thanks agian for your comment. Im booked for Llangynidr next year so do come say hello if you are there!
